EMDR Intensives
Dive deeper. Heal faster.
What's EMDR Intensive?
It's a deeper approach to healing. Rather than attending short weekly sessions, you'll immerse yourself in longer, concentrated therapy sessions — be it 6 hours or 3 hours over 3 days. This method is designed to maximize the benefits of EMDR, allowing for a more continuous healing process. The goal? Help you dive deeper into healing and feel better in a shorter time span.
How Do EMDR Intensives Work?
Before diving into the intensive therapy, we have a preliminary discussion to set our objectives. We'll assess your current life situation—identifying your support, challenges, coping mechanisms, and areas you'd like to see change or growth. In the actual intensive session, we focus on two main goals:
1) Lessening the pain from past traumas and
2) Amplifying the positive emotions in your life.
This is achieved using EMDR Reprocessing combined with activities like hypnosis, guided meditations, art therapy exercises, or artistic endeavors, all incorporating EMDR's bilateral stimulation. Depending on your personal journey, we might delve into early life relationships or concentrate more on future aspirations. The entire process is tailored to your needs.
Afterward, we reconvene to discuss your experiences, pinpointing the transformative moments and strategizing on integrating them into your life. Part of this journey involves sharing your insights with loved ones to ensure they're on board and cheering for your growth.

EMDR Intensive is an accelerated therapy treatment. It offers a quick and enduring path to healing. While there's an upfront cost, consider it an investment that not only saves you money in the long run but also precious workdays and time. These treatments swiftly address trauma symptoms, reducing their toll on relationships and overall well-being. Plus, you won't be stuck in long waitlists which leading Florida trauma therapists get you on.

No, unfortunately, as of now, all major commercial insurance companies adhere to the 'therapy hour' model. This isn't due to research supporting it as the best method, but simply because it's their chosen payment structure.
The extended sessions that characterize EMDR Intensives must be covered out-of-pocket. However, Care Credit, HSA or FSA accounts can still be utilized for payment.

Intensive therapy has a higher initial cost. But think of it like a fast pass: you're getting concentrated access to your therapist in a short span. I truly believe in the effectiveness of this approach; it's an investment in accelerated healing and personal growth.
Don't forget, you can use Care Credit, HSA and FSA accounts for payment. And for those who prefer spacing out sessions, I still offer regular weekly appointments, allowing the option to utilize insurance and distribute costs over time.
-
Because Intensive appointments are reserved exclusively for you, and require a large amount of time, we are not able to fill them on a last minute basis.
Because of the necessity to block out so much time, Intensive appointments must be cancelled by two weeks (10 business days) prior to the first session in order to receive a refund.
Intensive sessions may be rescheduled/adjusted one time if requested at least one week (5 business days) prior to the first session.
-
Yes-50% of the total fee will be required prior to the start of the consult session. The remainder of the balance will be required 48 hours prior to the start of the first Intensive session.

Think of therapy as a unique journey for everyone. While I can't promise specific outcomes, I can assure you that in our Intensive sessions, we'll be covering ground that might typically take weeks or even months in traditional therapy.
